“KRANTIJYOTI SCHOLARSHIP” is for girl students studying in standard 7th, 8th & 9th belonging to Backward Classes i.e. SC, ST, OBC, Maratha and sub-equivalent and Religious Minority. Year 2012 was first year of this scholarship. We have had organized an essay writing competition to select first 9 candidates. First year there were 210 participants. In second year 115 girl students were participated in the “Krantijyoti Scholarship Exam”. In these two years around 300 girl students had participated by about 30 various schools of Pune district.
From year 2013, the nature of this competition has been changed. We had decided to conduct an objective type exam based on the Marathi book “Tejaswini” written by Prof. Gautam Nikam which has brief narratives on life struggles and messages of the great women leaders of India. Along with this exam an essay writing competition also been conducted supportively to choose best 9 girl students. Each winner girl student of first 9 honored with Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- and all participants got Krantijyoti Scholarship Certificate.
This is the unique kind of social action in India of backward class women’s group from Pune. This women’s group is running “Krantijyoti Scholarship” program from public contribution.
